This is a working template, not a final legal agreement. Every item marked [TO BE CONFIRMED] must be completed and reviewed before the app or website is released.
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use are intended to govern access to and use of the MileLedger iOS app and mileledger.app website (together, “MileLedger”). By downloading, accessing, or using MileLedger after these terms become effective, you would agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.
The effective date, contracting person or entity, legal address, and whether any additional Apple standard end-user license terms apply are [TO BE CONFIRMED].
If you do not agree to the final terms, you should not use MileLedger.
2. What MileLedger does
MileLedger is a personal organization tool. It helps users record information about loyalty miles or points they expect, track the status of those entries, store supporting details, and prepare information that may be useful when contacting a loyalty program.
MileLedger does not automatically connect to loyalty accounts and does not itself award miles, verify eligibility, submit claims, control claim outcomes, or operate any airline, hotel, retailer, credit-card, or loyalty program.
No affiliation or endorsement
References entered by users to loyalty programs or partners do not imply affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement. Any official marks remain the property of their respective owners. Any actual commercial relationships planned for release are [TO BE CONFIRMED].
Eligibility
The minimum age, countries where MileLedger will be offered, consumer eligibility requirements, and any restrictions on business use are [TO BE CONFIRMED].
3. License and acceptable use
Subject to the final terms and applicable App Store rules, users are expected to receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to use MileLedger on supported Apple devices. The precise license wording and relationship with Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement are [TO BE CONFIRMED].
You must not misuse MileLedger. Prohibited conduct is expected to include:
- using the app or website for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive activity;
- attempting to interfere with security, availability, or normal operation;
- reverse engineering or redistributing the app except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- using MileLedger to infringe another person's rights; or
- uploading or storing malicious files or content you do not have the right to use.
The final acceptable-use restrictions and legally required exceptions are [TO BE CONFIRMED].
4. Your information and responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter and for deciding whether, when, and how to contact a loyalty program. MileLedger's dates, statuses, summaries, reminders, templates, and claim guidance are organizational aids and may not reflect a program's current official rules.
You should independently verify mileage amounts, eligibility, posting windows, claim deadlines, required evidence, and other official requirements with the relevant program.
Attachments and content
You retain whatever rights you have in information and files you add. You are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to store them and that they do not include unnecessary sensitive information. Any license needed solely for technical processing, support, backup, or synchronization depends on the final app architecture and is [TO BE CONFIRMED].
Device and backup responsibility
You are responsible for protecting access to your device and maintaining appropriate backups. The final app's export, restoration, local deletion, backup, and synchronization behavior is [TO BE CONFIRMED].
5. Pricing, purchases, and subscriptions
MileLedger's launch pricing model, free features, paid features, subscription periods, trial terms, renewal rules, and refund process are still being finalized. [TO BE CONFIRMED]
If purchases are offered through Apple's App Store, billing, cancellation, and refunds may be managed through the user's Apple account and subject to Apple's applicable terms. The final terms must describe all material price and renewal information clearly before purchase.
6. Availability, disclaimers, and liability
Service availability and changes
MileLedger may evolve over time. Features may be added, changed, or removed, and the service may occasionally be unavailable. Commitments regarding support, compatibility, updates, service levels, data export, and notice of material changes are [TO BE CONFIRMED].
No guarantee of mileage credit
MileLedger cannot guarantee that miles or points will be awarded, that a claim will succeed, that a loyalty program will accept stored information, or that a reminder or calculated date will always be accurate or delivered on time.
No professional advice
MileLedger provides an organizational tool and general product information. It does not provide legal, financial, tax, travel, or professional advice.
Warranty and liability terms
Any warranty disclaimers, statutory consumer guarantees, limits of liability, exclusions for indirect loss, and caps on damages must be tailored to the countries where MileLedger is offered. They are intentionally not invented in this draft. [TO BE CONFIRMED]
7. Suspension, termination, and legal terms
Rules for suspending or ending access, the effect of termination, survival of specific terms, account deletion (if accounts are introduced), and treatment of purchases are [TO BE CONFIRMED].
The governing law, courts or dispute-resolution process, consumer-protection exceptions, severability, assignment, waiver, entire-agreement wording, export controls, and process for changing these terms are also [TO BE CONFIRMED].
Nothing in the final terms should exclude rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to the placeholder support address: support@mileledger.app.
The legal notice address, responsible person or entity, and alternative required contact channels are [TO BE CONFIRMED].
